SEND report and information

We are committed to meeting the needs of all pupils, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

A number of children in the course of their school career will experience periods when they have difficulty in keeping up with their peers; and we are committed to inclusion and believe that all children have a common entitlement to a broad and balanced curriculum which is accessible to them.

Pupils develop at different rates, especially in primary education. It is our priority to identify and support any child in this position under the SEND system.

We are constantly developing and enhancing our therapeutic approach to behaviour within our school. This approach supports our pupils to regulate, relate and reason.

Additional to the quality first teaching and adaptive teaching, we offer a bespoke provision for our pupils with complex needs, which not only focuses on the curriculum, but integrates key areas within the children's Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP), such as life skills, independence, emotional regulation, communication and interaction.

Our SEND provision

  • We offer a sensory room within the school, which is available to support all pupils who have difficulties in regulating emotionally or who have sensory processing differences
  • We have developed a strong SEND parent group network, where parents have opportunities to meet each other through termly coffee mornings.
  • We deliver training to parents, examples include:
    • Understanding my child’s EHCP
    • Understanding the EHCP assessment process in Islington
    • SEND specific training (e.g. ADHD, sensory processing, ASC, SEMH).

We also invite external professionals to meet with our parents to provide additional advice and guidance.
